Library Card

When you come to the library after receiving a reservation confirmation email, your "閲覧証票"(library card) valid for the current year is required.

For those who do not have a currently valid library card, the following documents are required. Please note that if your library card has expired, it cannot be renewed automatically, and the following documents will be required.

For former UTokyo faculty and staff Certificate of Employment, or the Alumni Library Pass of UTokyo
For UTokyo alumni Certificate of graduation or completion, or the Alumni Library Pass of UTokyo
For those affiliated with other academic or research institutions an official ID card of your current institution
For those affiliated with a public institution an official ID card of your current institution
For those affiliated with publishers, the media, etc. an official ID card of your current institution
For those who do not have an official ID card issued by your universities, institutions, etc. Please see "For the general public"
For the general public an official identification that includes your name and address

Note to visitors

Please follow the guidance below:

  • Please bring your own pencils, ballpoint pens, and paper.
  • When using disinfectant, please disinfect your hands and personal belongings only, as alcohol may cause deterioration and alteration of some materials. In addition, please be careful not to let disinfectant adhere on the materials.
