Overview

The "Program for Strengthening Data Infrastructure for the Humanities and Social Sciences" aims to further enhance and strengthen data platforms and other infrastructures that promote data sharing and utilization in the humanities and social sciences, based on the results of the "Program for Constructing Data Infrastructure for the Humanities and Social Sciences," and to encourage researchers to share and utilize data jointly. The project promotes data sharing and domestic/international collaborative research.

As the Participating Institution (Headquarters) of this project, the Historiographical Institute and the Institute of Social Science, The University of Tokyo are jointly conducting the following activities.

1) Improve the functions, increase the metadata provided, and promote the use of the Japan Data Catalog for the Humanities and Social Sciences (JDCat).
2) Holding seminars and events to promote JDCat and research data utilization.
3) Revision of "A Guide to Data Sharing in the Humanities and Social Sciences", published November 2021.
4) Conducting other activities to promote the use of Japanese research data in the humanities and social sciences.
